Hello from Tongzhou! Looking for Friends!

Hi everyone! My name is Alex, and I'm currently a sophomore at Beijing University of Technology, located in the beautiful district of Tongzhou. I am an international student from Canada and I have been living in China for almost a year now. This city has captured my heart with its blend of modernity and traditional culture, and I am thoroughly enjoying my time here.

My interests are quite diverse. I love photography, and you can often find me wandering around Tongzhou with my camera, capturing the vibrant street life and the beautiful architecture. One of my favorite spots is the Yonghe Temple, where the serenity and intricate designs always leave me in awe. I also enjoy cooking, especially trying out new recipes from different cuisines, which I often share on my blog. If you're ever in Tongzhou and looking for a taste of home, hit me up!

Beyond these hobbies, I am very passionate about community building and making meaningful connections. Being far from home, I value the importance of a supportive network and genuine friendships. Recently, I visited the historic area of Tongzhou, where I captured this photo (see below) of the Grand Canal. The water was so calm and the sunset was absolutely breathtaking. It made me reflect on how much I have grown and learned during my time here. I hope to continue this journey of personal growth by connecting with more people and experiencing different perspectives.
